Dock Worker
Dockworkers will be in charge of loading and unloading freight by hand or with a pallet jack, organizing goods, and making sure that trailers are correctly and accurately loaded. This role includes the use of a barcode scanner to keep the service center dock neat and tidy.

Base Pay – $15.50/Hour

A day in the life of a Dock Worker

• Unload and reload trailers manually or with the aid of freight handling equipment like a lift truck, pallet jack, or side cart.
• Scan the barcode on each shipment to ensure that it is tracked to the rack, floor, or loading door.
• Check cargo information against the scan unit to ensure it is correctly addressed.
• Attach barcodes to freight for tracking and routing
• Sort and separate freight according to the intended destination
• Accurately document any overages, shortages, and damages as required by operational procedures
• Verify freight counts
• Dock clean up as needed
• May include other duties as assigned by Management

Here are a few necessities to get you started…. 

• High School or GED is desired
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
• Experience operating lift truck, pallet jack, or side desired
• Ability to work a flexible and varied work schedule
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds; pull up to 100 pounds and push up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally climb stairs
• Frequently stoop, kneel or crouch
